The character limit prevents me from going into detail about the problems I and others have exerienced.

This has been a problem since the release of the HD series of cards that use AGP. Check to see that people posting about problems with these cards are reporting a working fix. Go to ATi's forums, and the forums of any company that manufactures cards in the HD2400 or HD2600 series.

Pros: Good hardware with good specs for what it is, if only.Ĭons: Do not buy this card or any other in the HD series that uses AGP without first checking to see if there is a working driver set released.

I'll be upgrading that to the 650 Theatre Pro for the HD capability. Seems to work fine with my old 550 Theatre Pro tuner as well. I put in the Omega Drivers, and they work just fine so far. This card is a recent port from pci-ex to agp, and the "official drivers" are not completely there yet. Hmmm.Have to fix uld cause some airflow turbulence during hot n heavy activities. Overall Review: The fans exhaust points directly into another fans exhaust that is cooling my HD's in my hacked Sonata case. Speedfan shows all my temps in the mid 20's (c) even with my "duct tape" case mods! Cool! Still got the orignal PSU that came with the Sonata plugging away 380 watts.I'll get the new one in when I do some planned heavy metal cutting on the old case. Not a con at all, but I didn't even put in my new PSU yet, a new Cor***r. Regained a PCI spot, but I'm headed for less stuff rather than more.Ĭons: Non yet, but if I find any I'll document them. This is maybe the 100th video card I've put in, so go figure.Seems pretty quiet, certain quieter than the 9700 Pro with the huge "takes up the extra slot" cooler I had. Overall Review: this and dual core is a monster. TURN it OFF!!!! Bumb your resolution instead. Thats where i think people mostly go wrong.Ĭatalyst has it on by default. otherwise if you have AA your fps will severly be cut in half. the only thing i have noticed with the card is that if you AA turned on in Catalyst or your game turn it off, with one back end chip you cannot run AA. essentially the only thing we changed is the cpu which gives a higher fsb.Ĭons: cod 4 on the asus dual core setup was on average 60 fps solid at 1400x900 with everything turned on. Mind you everything is the same between the my p4 set up and the dual core setup. i thought is was due to sapphire's driver set being immature.

period!!!! my p4 on cod4 fps is on average 30 to 40 but is a little laggy, and half of the setting are turned off. plugged my drive, sound card, and this card. so i was curious and took it to my brothers house and put it in his asus 865 dual core board with an e2150 allendale to see how well it did. and even a p4 3.0 on a 865 chipset doesn't fully take advantage of it. Heck the card is faster than you cpu for starters. You can't take your 7 year old xp 1900 and plug this card in and expect it not to have problems.Theres about 10,000 reasons why it won't work. Pros: It's funny reading people's reviews about this card.
